We are so glad you’ve either booked your stay at The River Bend Retreat or are considering doing so. The following is some information we hope you’ll find helpful!
House Rules and Items to Note
- No smoking or vaping.
- Sorry, no pets. (We love pets, but must remain pet-free to accommodate our guests with allergies.)
- No events or parties.
- Maximum occupancy is 4 people.
- Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
- All persons and vehicles on the property must be registered with the hosts.
- No illegal activities are permitted anywhere on the property.
- There is no dishwasher. Guests must wash their own dishes.
- The property is not baby or child “proof”. Adult supervision of children is required at all times!
- Any persons occupying the top bunk must be at least 8 years old and under 200 lbs. Top bunk may be occupied by only one person at a time.
- This property is on a septic system. As such, there is no kitchen garbage disposal. Please place food scraps in the trash can and nothing other than bodily waste and toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet.
- Cable T.V. is not provided. The television set is equipped with Amazon Fire TV Stick and ChromeCast devices. Guests can login to their personal entertainment accounts (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) via the installed apps. DVD and VHS players are also available along with a library of popular movies.
- The Potomac River is viewable from the house during the cooler months of the year when the leaves are off the trees (approx. November through April).
- At this time, the gas stove/”fireplace” in the living room is not functional and is in place for decorative and ambiance purposes only.
Check-Out Instructions
- Check-Out Time is 11:00 a.m.
- Please leave the house in the condition you found it.
- Please place used towels, washcloths, dish cloths, etc. in the hamper in the bathroom. (Anything that doesn’t fit can be left on the floor of the bathroom next to the hamper.)
- Please leave any beds that have been slept in UNMADE. No need to strip sheets, blankets, etc.
- Please wash any dishes and either put them away or leave them to dry on the drying rack.
- Please place all trash in the trash cans, but leave the bags in the can. No need to take trash out.
- Please check to make sure you didn’t leave any of your belongings behind.
- Please lock the door behind you.
Cooking
The River Bend Retreat’s kitchen is equipped with everything we could think of that you might need to prepare your own delicious meals – dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, bakeware, etc. Just bring your ingredients and enjoy!
Breakfast
Breakfast items provided may vary, but generally include half-a-dozen eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, pancake mix, mini donuts, a variety of instant oatmeal packets, instant grits packets, and granola and/or cereal bars, along with coffee, assorted teas, hot chocolate, and juice.
