Ther River Bend Retreat Guest Book
We are so happy when our guests enjoy their stay with us, and we love hearing about what they loved about both our place and the area.  Here's what people are saying about The River Bend Retreat.

We loved the location right next to the canal for running and fishing! We had a great time and enjoyed whitewater rafting, tubing, hiking on the AT and visiting Greenbrier State Park and Washington Monument while we were in the area.

The River Bend Retreat is a lovely place surrounded by nature and close to several old historical towns to visit. The C&O Canal trail along the Potomac River is within view from the balcony, and a short walk from the house. The accommodations were very clean and well equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked with the essentials for making coffee, cooking, and some breakfast foods. We had lots of privacy, even with the host living in their attached house. The host makes you feel very welcome and is available to help if you need her, and she has included extras, like games to play and books to read, and Amazon Firestick which includes many options for movies and shows. I would love to go back again someday and would highly recommend to anyone looking to relax in nature and a experience a peaceful retreat.

We are tour guides and travel the world with many different accommodations. The River Bend Retreat lived up to the best. Great location and great hosts!!!!

We brought our bikes up and rode on the bike path next to the river across from their house. It is a lovely isolated place.

Loved the location of Riverbend Retreat. We wanted a convenient location to the C&O Canal Towpath, and Riverbend Retreat was perfect – cross the road and it was right there! We were able to enjoy a ride down to Harper’s Ferry one day, then Williamsport the next. Awesome trail conditions and amazing things to see from the canals’ past. The house was also perfect . . . . clean, cozy and thoughtfully appointed. We looked forward to happy hour on the deck each afternoon.

This is a wonderful and quiet spot situated at the edge of the woods with a view across the vast lawn that runs to the C&O Canal and the Potomac River. We loved our stay and are confident that you will too!!!

The location was more than we expected. You can see the Potomac River from the balcony. The C & O towpath was a wonderful place for long walks. We also drove just a few miles and toured Antietam. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This was the best AIRBNB experience I’ve had in 5 years of using the platform.

Jennifer and Dan were wonderful hosts – very responsive, friendly and welcoming! Their place is extremely clean, feels like home and has some very nice touches like extra blankets, snacks and even handmade soaps in the bathroom. It is just a few minutes from downtown Shepherdstown, but feels like you’re out in the middle of nowhere and is super quiet.

The location is great–a quiet locale near the C/O Canal, which makes for great walks, yet mere miles from Antietam and Sharpsburg. There are great, family-friendly hikes in the Antietam battlefield, by the way. Harper’s Ferry is nearby and has terrific history and hiking as well. I didn’t even get to the biking, kayaking, horseback riding, etc. etc., that’s in the area! My only “complaint” was that my time here went too fast!

Exceptionally clean. Amazingly quiet . . . nearby Shepherdstown is blessed with a surprising number of pretty good restaurants for a town its size. I will definitely stay here again!
